Wegovy initiation

Anonymous
I’ve taken the first 2 shots of Wegovy 0.25mg and am not feeling any different. No side effects either. I’m thinking about combining shots 3 and 4 to make 0.5mg. Has anyone done this? Will it mess up the titration somehow?

What were you instructed to do by the doctor that prescribed the medication?

Do that, or make an appointment to discuss a different approach.

You are in for a bad time if you’re this impatient. Some people don’t see any appetite suppression until the higher doses.

This was me last year. No appetite suppression until I worked my way up the dosage. But then the vomiting and nausea took over. Lost 10 lbs but almost lost my job because I was not able to leave the bathroom.

I just started ozempic 0.25 five days ago with zero side effects. I don’t have major appetite suppression, but I’ve lost 4 pounds. What m just eating slightly less and no evening binges. For me, it’s helped curb the food noise. I was expecting major appetite suppression but I don’t have that at all. Still eating regular sized meals, without the bingeing. Keep going!

Also have taken two shots, also no change yet. I've waited this long, I can wait a few weeks to titrate up, so that hopefully the side effects aren't too bad

I’m in the same boat… took my first dose of Mounjaro and nothing. I am doing better about not eating after dinner so hopefully I will lose a bit this week but it’s not what I expected. Looking forward to upping the dose in a month.

I suggest following the dosing guide. I had been on the highest dose for months and then had trouble getting it for a while. When I got my medication my doctor said I could resume at the highest dose and within 18 hours I was in the ER for the worst vomiting I’ve ever experienced. Seriously this medicine is powerful. Be patient and follow the instructions!

No. Do not do this. Take it on schedule. I’m on Ozempic and have had relatively few symptoms. You need to work your way up. Continue with the dosage as prescribed.

OP here. Alright… sticking to the prescribed dosing. I was confused and thought that the baby-step titration was only for the weight loss indication, but then noticed that ozempic also starts at 0.25mg. Who knew

4lbs in five days! Wow

Try fasting for a few days. Just stop eating and don’t worry about whether it’s “working” or not.

Interesting. I had a major change with my first shot of Mounjaro. I love it but unfortunately the insurance co-pay is 1,700 so I’m switching to Ozempic next week. Fingers crossed it works as well.
