Which car would you buy and why ? If it’s for family of 4 with 2 elementary school children . Thanks

The Model Y is small for a family of 4...do you do many road trips, car pooling?
The new Acura MDX, on the other hand, is very roomy and luxurious. I don't know much about the other two. |
The model Y is tiny compared to the other cars you list, much closer to an RDX in size
OP may want to consider the Model X, however, it is a very different price point. |
One of these things is not like the other (the Y). Have you looked at the Toyota Highlander Hybrid? Similar to Pallisade but available in a hybrid variant that gets @35 MPG.
Ford's quality has deteriorated. Weird knob gear selector that seems to be universally hated.
Thanks. We wanted to get Toyota hybrid. But most of the places we visited say it might take another year. We have to get a second car sooner. The drop in model Y price makes my DH to think about it . We both are actually tall. So we hv to consider it. Even with Tesla model 3 or X or S we did not feel comfortable with leg room for our height and also not the price point . We did test drive Hyundai . Seems nice. But my DH point is not sure whether Ti pay that much for Hyundai when Tesla dropped it price .
I have the Model 3 (Model Y is a slight upgrade) and an MDX. If you have elementary kids .. MDX for sure .. they are ranked pretty high on safety. I know Tesla is too but MDX is bigger and you need that to put the kids equipment. Not sure about the other 2
You can find the Toyota hybrids if you look around. The prime (PHEV) is available if you are willing to travel to NJ,CT or MA. Straight hybrids are available if you call around. Some of the scumbag dealers will still try and charge above MSRP but there are plenty who aren't doing that crap and more every day I imagine as inventory increases.

I have had the Hyundai for 3 years. Love it.
We just did a road trip to WV and like that we have AWD (did not need to use it) I have 3 teens and we typically are light packers - but even with ski gear (and 1 set of skis) we were able to fit everything in without using the roof rack. We do a lot of road trips and did not want to be constrained by charging - especially in different parts of the country. |
Acura
Test drive them. I really wanted an explorer and test-drove a bunch. I much preferred the Hyundai.
Family of 4 here and model Y owner. It works very well for us.
Thank you. Yes we did test drive Hyundai / Ford and Tesla. We owned one Acura few years ago . Like PP said compared to Ford , Hyundai seemed good. But not sure . Also compared to Acura / Hyundai and Ford seemed better with seating . We did not look at the new Acura yet . But with this price cut on Tesla it kind of started all new another option. Since my DH was any way kind of felt paying for Hyundai a hefty price of 55-58 k is not worth . But to me Tesla seems smaller . We also looked at Lincoln aviator too .
We just rented the Model Y and it was soooo tiny. A hatchback pretending to be an SUV.
