What type of outfit would you wear to a bridal shower in the northest in winter?

Flying up to one next month. Its being held in the private room of a casual restaurant. Is dark jeans/nice sweater too informal? If if I switch out the jeans for ponte pants I'm afraid I'll look like I'm at work. Or is that what I want? In spring/summer/fall I'd wear a dress but I'm always cold and never wear dresses or skirts in winter. Thoughts?

I would wear a dress with a cardigan, fleece lined tights, and high boots.

I think the black pants and sweater works, but I’d try to make it more of a fun sweater than what you’d wear to work.

Every women under 40 was wearing long, flowing, floral print dresses with boots/booties at a NE shower I attended recently.
