Water bowl cat can’t tip over

Anonymous
My kitten is constantly tipping over our stainless steel water bowls and making a mess. There’s two cats and a dog; they all use the same bowls. She paws at it until it tips. Do you know of any suction cup ones that actually work? Wood floor underneath if that’s a factor. Fountains are out because I hate cleaning them and the dog doesn’t like them. Plus I think that’ll make her want to play with it more. Any suggestions?

Can you put something heavier than the kitty inside the bowl to make it harder to tip over? Maybe one of the larger rocks sold as aquarium decor?

Get a fountain.

Mine would constantly dunk her toys in any water bowl bit or small, and knock them over trying to get her toys out.

Fountain... no issues whatsoever. Still tries to baptize her toys, but has never knocked it over.

Get a large shallow dog bowl

Get a slip proof mat or bowl with rubber bottom. Also something with feet works better than something round bottomed

I use a small square pyrex dish for my cats and place it on a rubber mat. I bought 2, one for water, one for food. Been doing watering and feeding like that for years. It works. Easy to clean. No mess. Does not flip over.

Hmm, this one might work. Going to try with the dog first because he’s picky and a nervous baby about new things.

Don't spend too much on the fountain. My cat knocked it over the first day I got one. The only thing that works for us is a water cooler style filter.

We have this for the dog’s food already. She climbs up into it and flips the entire thing over, so we only use it for food now, not water. She’s a Maine Coon, so bigger and stronger than other kittens.

This is OP. I truly hate fountains. I’ve gone through many over the years and finally gave up. For me, they’re a pain.

I use a glass Pyrex pie pan for my cat that used to tip over everything. Hasn’t tipped it over yet.

Thanks everyone. We’re a couple hours in to trying the Pyrex dish, but so far the dog won’t go near it. Seriously such a baby. But on the plus side, the cat tried and failed to tip it!

Hey !

It may be the see through glass freaking the dog out. They will either get used to it or you can go to Walmart/Target and get the Corning white ones.
I had a cat that could flip any bowl I put out. Except the pyrex. Cheap alternative and it works.

My male cat washes his feet in the water bowl. It's hilarious ! Mess contained. Everyone happy.
