Looking for well-developed stories with very explicit descriptions of romance. |
Outlander |
Clan of the Cave Bear |
Call Me By Your Name.
I read it years before the movie came out and it was really good, better than the film. |
To be clear, the SERIES. The first book (actually titled Clan of the Cave Bear) the only explicit scenes are rape scenes. The last two books in the series are terrible. The second thru fourth books would fit the bill. |
It Ends With Us (read it in 1 day- yesterday)
Starting the sequel today. |
Oh geez lol. What a suggestion. |
There's so much well written, plot heavy romance that is explicit. Try Darkest London by Kristen Callihan, Forbidden Hearts by Alisha Rai, or Hells Belles by Sarah Maclean (all are series). |
Want Me, Neve Wilder. |
Oh, Glitterland by Alexis Hall. |
The Wedding Date (Jasmine Guillory)
The Kiss Quotient (Helen Hoang) Window Shopping (Tessa Bailey) It Happened One Summer (also Tessa Bailey) |
This book, good lord. It threw me way back to when I fell hard like Elio. It’s a great book, not sure it’s sexually explicit the way OP may be thinking. I had a hard time reading that part because of his age. But, also, the book and film were like different stories. Without Elio’s train of thought narration, the movie simply couldn’t capture that intense, insane feeling of falling hard. Both are good in their own right. Ugh, I’m right back to my own elio/oliver-ish thing. |
Colleen Hoover is trauma p*rn. |
Anything by KJ Charles. Sharing Knife by Lois McMaster Bujold. A solid chunk of fanfiction on archive of our own. |
+1 seriously. We have to go to Clan of the Cave Bear, which gave me secret tinglies at 12?! There is so much written since then. We passed around the sleeping beauty chronicles like starved people 30 years ago in college. We must be able to do better! (I say we meaning you because I don't read much explicit stuff any more-- some things on kindle like the greek god series. I'll look it up if necessary but I'm sure there's SO. much newer and better out there! |
