Colesville Schools

Looking to buy a house in Colesville area of Silver Spring. The base schools are Fairland Elementary and Benjamin Banneker middle. Any feedback about these schools will be greatly apprecaited.

I live in this district and send my kids to private school.

I grew up in Cloverly and went to Banneker (and then Paint Branch). I think I turned out just fine. I would live in that area today and send my kids to those schools

OP here. 20:47, What are the private school options in this area? Any that are good schools but not $20K+ per year?

We live in Colesville and have for 16 years. We sent and send the kids to Jackson Road, White Oak and Springbrook. We love the area, the larger lot size, and the schools. We have enjoyed the experience greatly.

I live in this area (love it) and am zoned for those schools, but my daughter is only two, so I have no experience yet. However, my neighbors with elementary and middle school children seem happy with the schools. In particular, I have heard good things about the principal at Fairland.

Look in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood where Westover ES is. Westover is a great little school, and the neighborhood is fabulous.

We used them when our child was a baby. They took my child out in weather when it was under 32 degrees because they stated MD law required that they take them out every day. Which is not true. They also let my baby crawl up onto the blacktop in the parking lot. My neighboor called me and that was the last straw for us. We removed our child. Would not recommend them at all.
