| We’re considering buying a home that was built in the 1960s. It’s owned by the estate of the original owner, and it looks like it. The wallpaper is actually back in style! But unfortunately the kitchen carpeting (wtf?) is not. We’ll probably have to wait a year or two before we could do the full kitchen remodel. What kind of flooring should we do in the meantime? LVP? I don’t want to invest too much since it will probably be ripped out during the remodel, but that kitchen carpet has to go. |
| Sheet vinyl |
| Yes, we have LVP in our kitchen. Looks fine and it's easy to clean. |
| Rip the carpet and put down stick on vinyl tiles people use for apartments. Usually removable. |

+1 sheet vinyl. Period appropriate, cheap, low maintenance.
I personally would never do stick on tiles in a kitchen. Stuff will get in between. You can’t mop properly. |
Also harder to install. Sheet vinyl, just make a template, cut, double stick tape, trim/caulk, done. |
