Mako meet and Meet mobile

| This meet is a mess at the St James. Absolutely a zoo. Can’t see and too crowded. But not updating meet mobile is just compounding the problem. Ugh. |

| My limited experience is that meets at the St James are always a shit show. Always super disorganized, super crowded and a million degrees. |

| At the first session parents set up LAWN chairs and were eating breakfast. It was ridiculous. |

| Its the setup at the ST J. not enough space for swimmers and parents. They've told everyone there won't be enough spectator space due to kids in the upper bleachers. |

| The host club (Makos) should have capped the number of swimmers per session to fit within the bounds of the venue. Or at the very least provided alternatives for parents such as a live stream or timely meet mobile updates. |

| The 9-10 session tonight will be even worse. 394 swimmers and most of them are sticking around for the last two events, boys and girls 50 breaststroke. |

| They need to go back to George Mason. Much better set up and parking is not a disaster. |

| The January Mako meet is at Mason, but in March they have another one scheduled at the St James. Hopefully today’s ordeal prompts some better planning for that one. |

| meet mobile is glitchy- there is nothing any club can do about this however. I'm sure they are updating it- but they can't send an event to meet mobile until it is closed out at the table. So if the table is backed up, or there is any sort of issue- the event won't be sent to meet mobile. (e.g. a swimmer who got in the wrong heat- before the event is closed they will triple check to make sure that all swimmers have been properly reseeded. Especially in a 9-10 session this happens a lot.) |

just FYI- usually I like meets at GMU- but Winter Classic last weekend was a mess- vomit in the pool, which could have happened anywhere- but then a fire alarm that wouldn't shut off and ended up terminating the session early after we stood around outside for a few hours. |

| These meets run on volunteers. Hopefully you all timed, officiated, marshaled or whatever was needed. |

| I volunteered Friday night and it was disorganized. The SJ sucks. No parking. Way too many events. Awful. I would never host a meet there again. |

Oh, and don't forget the pipes that fell from the ceiling (13&U session) to the pool deck on Sunday. It was a miracle no one was hurt. That facility is in need of serious updating. The fire alarm was awful. The sensor was glitching and they could not fix it. |

They will be closed for renovations around March thru the rest of summer. So Mako won't be able to host there during that time. |
