Jeff has ok’d one friendly thread for discussion of the world cup. Since there’s just one thread it’s as much for casual fans who only tune for the occasional match as for people who’ve been following every roster move for the last three years.
I am torn between thinking the US blew a chance for three points and were lucky not to end up like Argentina. Very curious to see how some of these groups play out. At some point 0-0 ties won’t be enough. |

The Japanese were work horses given the size difference. Always respect to the Japanese players, both in basketball and in football. Blue Samurai spread the field a lot more, and took advantage of fast breaks whenever there was an opening. Also helps that Gonda was a wall of a goalkeeper. |
