Do you use Lidl electronic coupons?

Anonymous
I just learned that Lidl has a loyalty/membership discount program. Is that new?

I see a lot of online coupons. How does it work? It's a bit confusing to me. Do you have to "clip" each coupon before going shopping, or does your phone number or scan of app just apply the discount to anything on sale?

Unclear- I saw someone get discounts and asked the cashier and they wouldn't give me the discount on same items or explain how it worked

I drive a mile further and go to Aldi. Same stuff but no BS and better organized

Download the app, open it before you go in the store, gently shake your phone (that "clips" all the coupons), scan QR from app or enter your phone number at checkout.

Yes, and the cashiers usually remind me to use them.

You have to actually clip the coupons that way?

What is in it for the stores, I wonder? Versus just having a Club or Loyalty card? Why does it benefit the stores to have you use these online coupons?

Mine just show up as automatically clipped when I look under rewards.

Shaking your phone will display the QR-code for scanning at checkout. It's a shortcut. You can also use the "checkout" button in the app to display the QR-code.

To your question, OP: the coupons are applied at checkout, no need for clipping. All you need to do is to be a loyalty member (sign up) and then use either the app or your phone number at checkout.

There's no need to clip coupons. They are ready to go.
The shaking is a shortcut for the QR-code to display on the screen.

+1

Why is the poster upthread shaking her phone to get the QR code for scanning at checkout?? There's the QR icon on the bottom right of the screen Tap that instead.

Discounts are already loaded. Plus, when you reach a certain threshold you open up more discounts that, again, are automatically loaded No selecting or clipping like with Safeway or Giant.

Ha, I had no idea! Thank you! I am very old... when I get to the checkout counter I have to beg the young kids checking me out to help me find the things on my phone.
