| I’m planning a celebratory lunch in DC and was wondering if anyone had some good recommendations. A lot of the restaurants I looked at had dinner service only. Open to all types of cuisines and willing to splurge. Thanks! |
| Centrolina at City Center is open for lunch and has great food |
| any particular area of DC? |
| Le Diplomat is open for lunch |
Thanks for the recs everyone! OP here -- open to all parts of DC. We have been to Centrolina and Le Dip. We used to live in DC, but it's been a while since we've dined in the city. Is Fig & Olive any good? We used to walk by it in City Center, but never had a chance to check it out. |
Fig & Olive is fine but I think Le Dip is better. Maybe Blue Duck Tavern? |
| Good call on BDT. We've been there a few times and have always had a great experience. Anyone been to Zaytinya recently for lunch? |
Zatinya was never never good and still isn't. |
| Dauphine’s |
|
Floriana in DuPont Circle. Definitely not quite as fancy as other recs but a nice place with a fireplace and reliably delicious Italian.
Il Canale in Georgetown BlackSalt in Palisades |
| The Palm. Old. Expensive. Reliable. |
|
Rasika West End is good for lunch.
Haven't been to La Bise yet but that may be an option. |
I think Fig and Olive is way overpriced and not great. I couldn't believe that place was still in business after eating there. In fact, most of the food I've eaten in City Center has been mediocre and overpriced. |
