Yes. If they refuse the test or leave it blank or rip it up, still 50%. Ridiculous.

What is considered homework? Are lab write-ups & papers written at home included in this too or are they still graded?

It all depends on the teacher and the assignment. If the teacher decides to call it a “summative” then it’s graded. If they call it a “formative” it isn’t. Both homework and classwork can be formative.
