Switching from Clomid to Gonadotropin for IUIs

IVF not an option. Any success stories from someone who switched from clomid to injectables for IUIs?

Kind of crazy, I’m OP and I forgot I made this post. I did switch. There was an infuriating mix up with my doctor so it took two months from this posting and I ended up doing one more clomid IUI then the injectable. The injectables from SMP pharmacy out by Shady Grove were quoted by them at $2,000 so I cried for a day and then we decided to do it. They had a discount and got it down to $800 for me.

It didn’t work, and it was the last IUI round insurance would cover. But what’s absolutely wild is I did get pregnant naturally the cycle immediately after the injectable cycle.

We had male factor, tried for two years for my first and 1.5 for the second and never so much as a day late or false positive over hundreds of tests. I tried all the things for years—ovulation trackers, supplements for him, preseed lubricant. So I very strongly suspect, but have zero medical explanation for, that the failed injectable cycle did something to my hormones to make a natural cycle suddenly work.

Good luck. It was among the worst months of my life going through the expense and the failures and the not knowing if I’d ever get my baby. I hope it works for you!

I f&cking hate Lupron right now. It was supposed to suppress my ovulation and instead caused it prematurely, again, so my cycle is canceled. Apparently this is a phenomenon my team is aware of and knew I jad issues with but they still pushed forward with it.
