Last minute romantic getaway w/in ~1hr drive of Frederick, MD?

Anonymous
Can anyone recommend a romantic resort/hotel/b&b within about a one hour drive of Frederick, MD that has availability Oct 22-24? Any price point is fine, want it to feel a little luxurious and private. This could be anything from "glamping" style luxury to super swank hotel/resort, but I'm not fond of frilly/old-lady-decorated b&bs. Don't need onsite/nearby activities but they could be a bonus. Thank you!

Yes thank you, this is on my search list - but I'm looking for recommendations for an actual hotel/b&b we can book.

Looks like there is a yoga retreat that weekend, but they might also have other non-yoga options

Wine country in Virginia. I found a lovely Airbnb there a few years ago.

Haven’t been myself and a little further but I’ve heard good things about Savage River Lodge

I would drive further and do Keswick. Pretty much every other place listed is meh.

Thanks everyone. I should have specified - we have two nights to stay, but we have to get back to Frederick briefly on the middle day (cannot be rescheduled). So I don't want to make that side trip any longer than it needs to be, and about an hour is our max (so 2hrs roundtrip). Some of these others look great but I can't drive 5-6 hours roundtrip in one day in the *middle* of my short vacation.

The Inn at Herr Ridge and Salamander are both good possibilities though, so thank you!

Salamander is not worth it. And the Inn at Herr is exactly the type of place you said you did not want, country crafty/old lady.

I think you really don't know what you want.
