Coffee shop with toddler play area?

Anonymous
Are there any coffee shops with children's play areas near DC? There used to be a place called "At Play Cafe" in Reston with this concept but it closed. Ridgetop Coffee & Tea in Sterling, VA also fits this bill but is kind of far. Looking for someplace in DC or Arlington or Fairfax.

In Arlington we call these parks - and BYOB.

This is something I looked for a lot--it's a potential goldmine of a business! I couldn't find any in DC, i ended up grabbing a take-out coffee and going to the park/playground.

St Elmo's in Del Ray maybe?

The restaurant business is struggling as it is. Do you really expect a cafe to 1) provide a play area when they could have money-naking tables there instead, and 2) encourage people to nurse a coffee for two hours while their kids play? There is a reason the place in Reston closed - it didn't make money.

+1. Indoor play places tend to be gross and the coffee is gross. Mobu Kids closed awhile ago, as I recall.

The Lane in NE DC is an indoor play place with a nice little cafe - coffee, beer/wine, juices, fizzy waters, snacks. DH sometimes goes there to "WFH" and lets DD go nuts and burn off energy.

+1 to The Lane. it's heavier on the "kids play space" than "coffee shop," but it does check both boxes.

The Compass on mass ave in Spring Valley has a little toddler/kid play nook with games and toys and a little table if I’m not mistaken.
