Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
| We have a last minute chance to have a dinner out tonight without our 2 children, and we both want LOBSTER but we live in the burbs near Germantown. Anyone have any recommendations for a great lobster dinner without an hour drive each way? Thanks in advance! |
| Have some place like Balducci's steam a fresh one for you and figure out some place for a romantic picnic. should be a nice night tonight. the restaurant versions stink or are way to expensive (e.g. Morton's). |

Clyde's!!! They have a great summer lobster special. The lobsters are small but they are sweet and yummy. DH and I always order double. Single is only $18.95 with fries and cole slaw (and maybe a salad?).
If you feel like spending more, the Palm has great lobster. |
| another vote for clydes!!! wish i were going with you. |
| You could try Legal Seafood in Bethesda or O'Donnnell's in the Kentlands. |
| 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church had an incredible lobster dish on its menu when we were there last weekend. If you want to splurge... |
| OP here. Thank you very much. These are all great suggestions! |

I don't know...Clyde's lobster tails are kind of puney. Especially the ones they serve during their specials.
If you want a fluffy & huge, broiled Rock Lobster tail I would definitely recommend O'Donnell's in the Kentlands. It's a great, traditional Maryland seafood place. I also love hibachi cooked lobster...I think their is a Japanesse steakhouse in Germantown but the name escapes me...Sakura maybe? |
Sorry, I meant McCormick's and Schmicks in Bethesda. |
| For lobster in Maryland, your best bet is to go to BWI and buy a ticket to Maine. |
| We've tried O'Donnells twice and were very disappointed. Poorly cooked food and very bland. |
| I had lobster at Bond 45 in National Harbor recently and it wasn't that great and cost $40. It was not sweet at all. I should have gotten the steak which was out of this world good. |
