Her ex-husband, James Tupper, father of her younger son, Atlas, has contested the appointment of her older son, Homer, as special administrator. Sadly says Homer has not seen his younger brother and has flaked on grief counseling and dinner with his brother. And that he hasn't let his brother get his stuff from his mother's house. |
| Sad sad sad. |
| Insane that the court would even consider appointing her 20 year old deadbeat son the administrator. It should be a neutral party. |
| Agree. Sounds like the ex husband is making a reasonable request. |
From the linked article it sounded like he was appointed as the special administrator and that an official representative would be appointed later. Google tells me a special administrator has limited powers. But, as they say, possession is 9/10 of the law. Seems like it would be prudent for the court to appoint an executor quickly. |
+1 he sounds awful. The poor younger son. |
"Deadbeat?" He's 20! As DCUMers so often point out, "his brain isn't fully formed yet!" He didn't ask for this. |
| Did she not have a will setting this stuff up??? |
He didn't ask to drop out of college and not work at all? |
She didn't. But her ex husband has an email that she sent in 2011 making him executor and stating how she would like her estate divided between her sons. That may suffice as a last will and testament. |
| oh goody, let's make this whole awful situation even worse. sad. |
| How spectacularly cruel that the older brother has locked the child out of his own home. And now that he’s describing it as “vacant”, it sounds like he has removed everything without anyone consent. That poor kid, to loose his mom and his home all at once. (I mean I know not literally poor) |
| It sounds like Homer has legal representation (as he should) and is close with his father and step mother which is good. That person filing out the paperwork and running things. Why in the world would anyone expect a 20 year old who just lost his mother to be the support for a 13 year old 1/2 sibling or go to grief counseling WITH him? Who knows what is really going on but I highly doubt it is nearly as clear as James makes it out to be. |
He won’t even give the poor kid his belongings and doesn’t seem to care about him at all. He is not a nice person. |
+1 He hasn't murdered, mugged, raped or carjacked anyone either. |
