Are the perishables garbage? Milk smells fine 🤷‍♀️
Fridge temperature said 113 but I don't know how that's possible?? Fridge is 12 years old, kitchenaid. Does running that much make it more likely it will quit soon? |
| 12 years is a decent lifespan fora refrigerator. Honestly I wouldn’t be worried about the food. Your fridge probably used more energy to keep things cold but they were likely kept cold. |
| I would not risk it. |
| Throw out the perishables. |
| Is it in the house or an un air conditioned garage? I would toss things like raw meat but not worry about the mustard bottle. |
| It’s fine. |
| I wouldn’t eat meat/fish but everything else you can determine by taste/smell |
| 113? No, and what is the temp after you close it |
| As an aside, some newer refrigerator models sound an alarm, and send an alert to your phone, if a door is left ajar. GE's Cafe series is one such model I know of. |

i don't see how a fridge could get to 113* unless it was in the garage...
if it truly got up to 113, then everything is done... if you don't think it got to 113 then likley the fridge might have gotten to around 40 maybe mid 40's, which is still IMO safe.. all depends on how risk adverse you are.. |
If it got above 40 for more than 2 hours, it’s done. |
| Toss perishables. Does the fridge have a light bulb in it that turns on when the door opens? If so, those get HOT and that probably explains the high temperature. |
| I think that produce is fine but I'd toss the dairy and meat. |
