Even more damning, Hamas itself started as a counterinsurgency funded and armed by Israel. 40 years later, and Israel has new ideas regarding counter-terror or Palestinians.

Hamas did not become a giant threat and financially solvent thanks to blind paralyzed leader who led prayers out of his basement wheelchair. Israel helped them become what they are today.
