Does the feintest line on a covid test that appears over an hour later count as positive?

Does the test become invalid after 15 minutes? My DD took a test this morning and I thought it was negative, but a couple hours later i saw a shadow, and now another hour has passed and it looks like a very very feint line. We do have a direct exposure. She had a mild runny nose two days ago, tested negative yesterday, and has no other symptoms at present.

No, the tests get weird after the 30 minute window.

You should do more than one test at the recommended interval, though. One rapid is not enough.

I believe most tell you not to read after 30 minutes. So therefore it’s probably not a valid result at this point. To be certain, check the instructions. If you don’t have the instructions, google for them and check.

Follow the directions on the box (which should tell you to test again)

No, the results invalid after the time noted on the package. Have her test again later.

No. Just like with pregnancy tests, the results aren't valid after the time indicated on the test.

The directions specifically say that the results are not valid after 30 minutes! Throw the test away at this point.
