Deshaun Watson says he's 'truly sorry to all of the women that I have impacted'
I guess that’s one way of putting sexual assault. NFL wants to suspend him for a full season versus 6 weeks given by judge. So they all clearly think he’s guilty so why are they letting him even play? NFL just trying to look good to women. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/deshaun-watson-apologizes-to-all-the-women-i-have-impacted/ar-AA10BXkD |
| At least 25 women were “impacted” by him. |
And the NFL want him to play and pay hm millions! |
If their profits stay up, the NFL doesn't care. |
| He’s done. Watson isn’t good enough for any team to take the PR hit now. |
|
The Redskins prostituted cheerleaders and their solution was to fire all the cheerleaders.
Let’s talk about that. How many games were they suspended? |
| If he would have accepted the NFL’s initial “plea deal,” he would have been suspended most of but not a full season (for some reason I have 12 games in my head?) and had to pay a fine. Instead he and his lawyers fought it, got a much better deal, which I think was 6 games and no fine, And the NFL appealed and now he’s staring down a full season out and a fine. Also he got booed on his first appearance on the field for the Browns and played horribly … so there’s that. He sat out all last season and doesn’t seem likely to play this season either so how will he play in a year? Have no idea why the Browns took this risk honestly. |
| I’m a lifelong Browns fan and will be rooting against them this year. I said to another fan that winning now would feel dirty. So I hope they lose, take the massive financial hit the owners deserve, and are forced to dump him. I just feel bad for good guys like Miles Garrett who deserve better than this stupid team with dumb owners who make horrible decisions. Baker Mayfield is laughing his a$$ off. |
He just wanted a hand job. What’s the big deal |
| Jets fan here (yeah ok laugh). I wanted them to trade for him so bad but, damn, there is just way too much smoke there. Dude has a to of baggage and hasn’t played in two years so he’s older and rusty to boot. Glad jets took a pass… |
You’re a famous athlete making millions and you do what he does to 20+ women? He’s got a problem. And before you say “nothings proven”, remember: he settled with all these women. Would an innocent man do that? |
Troll. |
| What he did was bad, but not bad enough that he should lose his livelihood forever. Six game suspension probably costs him about $10 million. That’s a pretty hefty financial consequence, even for someone in his situation, and that strikes me as a fair punishment for what he did. The larger proposed suspension was just for optics for the NFL. |
| He likes massages. Big whoop. |
Agree! Watson booked 50 plus massages in a year and 20-something women have accused him of sexual assault. (I Wonder how many didn’t press charges.) He id 6 feet 2, 215 pound guy, using his celebrity in some cases to take advantage of vulnerable people/situations. If he’s not punished what stops him from continuing to do it, or anyone else. He is not “guilty” in the legal sense, Because he paid them millions not to even go to court. The NFL has a personal conduct policy. The punishment for breaking this is a suspension. His offense was booking 20 plus appointments and doing “something” that warranted more than 20 women to complain. …. NFL also did their own investigation and interviewed women, have “proof” of texts, DMs, etc; have corroborated stories, etc. …. and he isn’t really denying that what he did was unacceptable. His statement is just carefully crafted to downplay it all because the NFL knows what went down. I don’t blame these woman for settling. But I am so happy that at least one held out. Hoping she is able to get to him criminally charged. Mainly because most people/fans don’t think it’s serious if he isn’t “found guilty in court of law”. They will root for him, and the NFL will pay him $250M because they can make 4x that off if him. |
