Infertility Support and Discussion

I am currently in 2ww after my 2nd IUI.
If it doesnt' work, i'd like to move onto IVF as soon as I can. Would I be able to start "perparations/protocol" with my next cycle? |

I did a successful Antigon cycle.
Full cycle of birth control pills Period Start stims (FSH & LH shots) on day 3 Add Antigon after about 5 days (don't remember exactly Shots lasted about 9 days Then took trigger shot egg retrival like a day and a half later I think Came back on day 5 for embryo transfer positive pregnancy beta about a week and a half later! It's been a while so I could be off by a few days here or there but this is generally the idea. I didn't do lupron so I don't know that protocol. |
Forgot to answer your question...yes, you should be able to start the IVF cycle right away as long as they don't find any cysts or anything. If they do (which is common especially on Clomid) you may need to do an extra cycle of birth control to shrink them first. |

there are a bunch of different types of protocols that last 1-2 cycles (or can be extended if you have a cyst, etc.) - some protocols use BCPs and/or Lupron to suppress before starting stims. assuming you don't need to do anything prior to the cycle (additional testing, paperwork, etc.) then you should be able to start with your next cycle. I'd call your nurse to find out specifics if you do want to push forward quickly. actually you'll probably want to meet with your RE to discuss protocol first...
my antagonist cycle didn't use BCPs... |
