Any recent experiences at Glen Haven Elementary (Silver Spring)?

Would value hearing from families with kids in the school. We are moving to that neighborhood.

I think the new principal is in her second year and doing well there. The last one left to head the virtual academy. No kids there though.

We love it here! No complaints, except that there’s no school bus service.

Isn't that because everyone is within the walk zone? It's a pretty compact area.

Thanks PP. any advice for kids entering at 3rd grade? Is it a hard school to build friendships and how is bullying? We’re moving from another MoCo school where bullying was really bad this past year - and even physical fights among students happened with alarming frequency.

More than half the streets don’t have sidewalks. Yes, 100% live within a walk zone, but check out the school at pickup or drop off times— there’s a line of cars a mile long.

Thanks for your input. I don’t use Great Schools as a the only guidepost. My kids have been at another ES that doesn’t fair well on GS and consistently have thrived academically.

Back to my question - any feedback from current parents about school culture, friend groups, etc?
