Food, Cooking, and Restaurants

We have pretty much been disappointed at almost every place we have tried for brunch in Potomac, Rockville, and Gaithersburg (Kentlands). We tried First Watch in Rockville Town Center this weekend and it was great so I thought I would post and recommend it. It was kid friendly but more importantly the food was good for adults and kids. They had cage free eggs and DH actually approved of the Eggs Benedict (he is incredibly picky). Kids menu had good choices and I loved the omelet.

OP, thanks for the recommendation! First Watch looks great! I have been looking for a place like this and will try it soon.
Here's a link to their web site if others are interested in checking it out. http://www.firstwatch.com/ Does anyone have any other favorites in Rockville? I'm fairly new to Rockville and am still trying to find some casual restaurants (like First Watch) that we can go to regularly (other than places like Potbelly, Chipotle, or CA Tortilla, all of which I love, but sometimes I like a sit down restaurant). |
Hey - don't tell our secrets!! We love First Watch - the food is good, fresh, and fast - and if you get there before 9 am on a Saturday there's a good chance there won't be a wait (after 9 the opposite applies).

Also, we like Mosaic Cafe for breakfast, but it can get expensive - it is a sit down place, but they are kid friendly. it's in the plaza across Halpine from Buy Buy Baby with the REI.
Also for sit-down kid-friendly- try Silver Diner - it's decent, and our kids LOVE it. For kid-friendly dinner, we go to Austin Grill, Hamburger Hamlet, Guapos, Mamma Lucia's. WE don't do it that often, as my husband finds going out with our young boys not that relaxing (imagine that!) |
