My son may be going for speech therapy to our neighbhorhood school. I'm just curious if every single elem school in mont. co. has their own speech therapist or do several schools share the same person? |
Our speech therapist is only at our school a couple of days per week. She works at at least one other school. |
It really depends on the school and the programs at the school. Some schools have more than one and some have less than one. I have worked at schools where there is one full-time speech pathologist and two part-time or only one part-time. Some schools have a larger special needs population, and require more speech teachers. You should be able to search your school's website to see how many speech teachers. My daughter's elementary school has two (I don't know if they are both full-time). |
Can I ask how you got the speech therapy? We have been trying to get services for our son, but have been unsuccessful. At an IEP meeting, I asked for testing, based on specific problems my son appeared to be having, but the response has been the mantra " problems are within developmental range of kids his age."
MoCo refuses to test/assess him, and I just get shut down. |
