I want to buy Docusign stock

Down almost 80% from its all-time high. Huge drop yesterday on an earnings miss.

I've never purchased individual stocks but I am REALLY tempted to buy like $10K-$20K worth. I own an online business and I keep paying for Docusign because of the name-brand power. I want our customers, who don't see an office or our people, to feel comfortable handing over their sensitive information (bank account numbers, etc.). The kicker is I also pay for Adobe (their main competitor) so I get the signing function for free from them. However, I still think the name-brand power of Docusign is worth it and a big plus. And electronic signing is not going anywhere.

Isn't that the Peter Lynch investing model - buy things you know and believe in (I think Elon Musk said something similar too)? Thoughts?

Agreed on docusign. I generally steer clear of individual stocks and do index funds. But docusign is very common, and imo getting more so. With everything remote virtual etc.

Go for it, it's a gamble (could still go down 50%) but as long as it's not money you need immediately.

If you have the money go for it. The market overreacts sometimes. That easily could be what happened here.

Adobe just launched a competitive Signature product for Federal security requirements. Not sure how that will impact DocuSign overall or how much of their customer base is government and federal contractors.

what a jack ass comment, down 80% and it could be a over reaction? wait till the big boys like aapl fall and these overhyped stocks will fall even further. its just a matter of time. index level pain will be much worst.

DocuSign is bad it's in a saturated market and nothing is unique about them

Not only that, their only product has competition from bigger names at a much lower price points that is better integrated into programs that most businesses already use
