Do you watch TV with your spouse?

Anonymous
In the evenings DH usually turns on sports and likes for me to sit next to him, even though I’m not watching. I have had enough of doing this and want to watch what I want in another room. How do you and your SO handle watching TV together? And I’m not talking discussing and settling on a movie on Friday night. This is regular every night TV.

No one watches TV in our house. We all watch our respective devices.

We watch TV together most nights. Sometimes it's his pick that I wouldn't watch alone (UFC), sometimes it's my pick that he wouldn't watch alone (Real Housewives), but most nights it's something we both like. I wouldn't sit nearby and only watch this stuff every night, nor would he ask me to.

We are watching tv together now.

Sometimes we watch shows or movies together. Sometimes we watch on separate devices.

I either go in the other room and read or watch something different but with him with my AirPods in. I don’t watch sports and that’s his go-to.

We also do watch tv and movies together regularly.

Never. DH watches tv and I go elsewhere to read or workout or whatever.

How sad

We don't have a TV. We each use our laptops or tablets, or we watch something together on a computer screen that we've set up for movies.

Often yes, but not always. We can always find something we both are happy to watch.

Around what time does he turn sports on? Is it every day? What you should do is during a time when he isn’t going to turn on the tv, you turn on a show you like and make him sit next go you and watch.

My friends do this. They are a big “we don’t own a tv” family but they still watch shows and movies all the time on devices. Why not just get a tv for a better viewing experience?
