Infertility Support and Discussion
|
Just got a call from my doctor. My beta levels keep rising at a brisk rate (his words). I have to go back for another ultrasound tomorrow to see what's going on. He said if they see something wrong they will send me over for emergency surgery. The downside is that I will lose my tube. He said that if they find nothing I could get a third round of Methotrexate and hope it works or I could opt to schedule a D&C.
I am so confused. I don't know what to do and now I am stressing and my anxiety is about to set in.

| I'm so sorry. Please be careful. The shot didn't work for me either. My tube ruptured and it was very scary. Thankfully I was not home alone... I would go ahead and get the surgery. Its MUCH better to have schedule surgery with your own doctor than emergency surgery. |
| I had the surgery after methotrexate didn't work. As PP said, this is pretty serious which is why your doctor is eager to see you again. I scheduled the surgery for same-day and it was out-patient. 3 months later I was pregnant with TWINS. Hang in there, I know how tough this is. |

OP here. I went back to see FS yesterday since my beta numbers were still rising. The sent me right away to have surgery. They were worried that I could have a failed pregnancy in the uterus and then ofcourse the Ectopic in my right tube. They did the lap surgery and a D&C. They ended up removing my tube. That was upsetting but I know there was no choice. I'm in a lot pain but I have my meds next to me. I'm still bleeding heavily and hopefully that will slow down.
Did you end up doing IVF three months after your surgery? Thank you giving me some hope! |
| Just wanted to say that I'm really sorry. Infertility is so unfair sometimes. |
| 20:47 here. I had my surgery at about this EXACT time 7 years ago. We opted to skip IUI because of loss of right tube. I did my first IVF in July which resulted in a chemical pregnancy, my 2nd IVF in early September resulted in twins. So I guess technically it was 4 months post surgery that I got pregnant. Hang in there! I remember being in intense pain post lap surgery, but I didn't bleed too much. Truthfully, I don't remember too much more about it because it seems like such a lifetime ago especially now that I have 6 year olds. I hope the same for you. Do you have a good RE? |
| I had three sets of meth. shots before it worked. Then I had another ectopic and just had the tube removed. Didnt want to go through it again. |
