Buy Buy Baby Registry Completion Coupon - exclusions?

Anonymous
Does the Buy Buy Baby registry completion coupon have the same exclusions as their other coupons? I ask because I have my UPPA Baby Vista stroller on the registry only to be able to take advantage of the discount. If I won't be able to use it on the stroller, I may as well take it off the registry and not have to worry about people assuming we expect them to buy us the stroller.

I don't think the same exclusions apply. The completion certificate I have in my hand only says it is not valid on: gift certificates, gift cards, special orders, Shooting Stars Portrait Studio, diapers, wipes or formula. There are no other exclusions on the certificate. But the one they sent me is only for 10% off, not their usual 20% off. Did anyone get a completion certificate with a higher % off?

I used mine to buy our UppaBaby Vista last year - no problems.

How does the completion program work? Do you just register, put in your shower date, and once it passes they send you the coupon?

I'm not having a shower and don't need many baby items this time around, but I do need a couple of things, including a carseat, so I'm thinking I can register and just put in a fake date for my shower and then get the coupon and buy the things myself. That would work, right?

Thank you for the responses. I will leave it on my registry to take advantage of the discount. PP, with the completion program, you put in your due date and they send you a coupon AFTER the baby is due. You can use whatever date you want. Clearly I can't do that because it would totally confuse anyone looking at my registry. Here are the deets directly from their website:

As a thank you for registering at buybuy BABY, we’re pleased to offer you 10% off any items remaining on your registry after your baby’s expected arrival date. Be sure we have your most current home address and email address on file so that we can send you one certificate through U.S. mail for in-store use and another certificate through email for online use.

Thanks for the info, PP!

(Sounds like I'm pretty safe making up a due date to get the coupon. This is baby #4 and no one in the world will be looking up my registry!)

FYI, I received my completion certificate weeks ago (maybe a month ago) and I'm not due until the end of May so I don't think you need to even make up a due date. There is nothing on the certificate about not being able to use it before your due date.

You can only use your completion certificate for 3 months after your expected date (that you registered with). something to keep in mind.
