It’s like Wordle, but eight.

Fun game! I thought I got lucky my first try since I got all the words, but do the clocks mean I took too long?

I think I’m actually most consistent in Octordle of all the Wordle type games I play 😅

The clocks mean you got the answer after 10 chances.

Hey there OP!!! I really like Octordle a lot! I think it is my favorite and the one I've played the most. Every day I play (behold my patheticness!): Wordle, Taylordle, Quordle, Heardle, and finally Octordle. I have played hundreds of games of Octordle (not just the daily one, but the other available ones) and I know I'm bragging a little but I've only lost a few times. The best I have ever done in Octordle is solve everything in 7 tries, but I only did that well once because one of the 8 words was one of my starter words! Usually my best in Octordle is an 8. Octordle doesn't seem to keep your stats like the others do, though; bummer.

Here are some weird 5 letter words! Idyll, macaw, droit (wtf? that was in quordle), krill, rebus, axial, offal, inbox, emcee, aphid, fjord.

Thanks, PP!

But, wait….other Octordles?? We need LINKS! 🥳🥳🥳

Also, you’re better than I am. I have lost a lot. I usually get my first word within 4 tries, and I often fall into the trap of wasting tries on words that have multiple options (i.e., flows, glows, slows, blows, etc.)

…Oh, and I remember krill and inbox.

I believe I got krill, but inbox screwed me over BIG TIME!

Sedecordle is my favorite. I feel like the multiple words is like playing multiple bingo cards. I don't play bingo though. DH likes Worldle and Heardle, but I suck at geography and don't know much music from before I was born.

I love Wordle, but it started repeating…so, quit. Very fun game, tho!

Sedecordle is one of my favorities. I play the 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 and 16 word versions of wordle everyday, usually at midnight when they reset. Loads of fun!

[4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 , 10, 11. First three are burner words, then I get 'em all.]

Change your strategy! my first three words use 15 different letters - I play those first 3 words each time regardless of the greens/yellows I get with the first word or second word.

Don’t fall into the trap! Even if you know it’s a word like know, glow, flow, etc don’t play even one of them. Play other words so you identify and eliminate letters that will help you solve blow/flow/glow in fewer tries

Okay, two corrections. I don't get Octordle in 7 tries! ha ha. I meant best I have ever done is TEN tries, but that's because one of my 3 starter words hit. But usually I do 11.

Secondly, I don't mean there are other Octordles, just that you can play more than the daily game if, after you finish the daily game, you hit "back" in the upper left and then "free Octordle" under daily Octordle. I'm sure you knew this but explaining just in case. There were days early on when I was playing like 20 games a day, it was insanity.

My "strategy" is to use the same 3 words every time, words that use as many of the consonants that pair up together as possible, plus all the vowels. (My starter words are TALES, ROUND, and CHIMP.) Then I check which words I'm closest to getting and guess those, leaving the hardest for last, because as you use letters in getting the easier ones you will find out info on letter positioning and letter use that will make the hardest ones easier.

But I don't play Wordle on hard mode. I can't stand it when you know what 4 letters in a word are and cycle through til you hit the right one, so I do easy mode and kill a word using as many of the possible options I can fit just to make sure I don't lose.

In short, WHATEVER MAKES YOU HAPPY is the way to go in my book. Happy octordling!
