Dance school recommendations?

My daughter is 6 years old and I know it’s subjective but is really good at dancing and enjoys it immensely. We have her in ballet, which she kind of enjoys still but want to find some class/school where she can expand the type of dancing she does. It’s possible there’s a hip hop class out there that might be what I am looking for but maybe not. I’m thinking of something that would teach dancing and choreography around certain dances that would lend itself to pop music, dance music, hip hop, etc. Maybe even incorporate from styles/techniques that become popular on Instagram/TikTok. Not necessarily the gimmicky stuff per say but the fun dances that might be fun to have set of skills. I have no idea if I just did a miserable job of explaining what I am thinking but wanted to throw it out there. Also looking for a class perhaps that would take a six year old but maybe be aimed at slightly older kids. Any experience or recommendations? TIA!

Dance Place in Brookland has hip-hop, tap, contemporary, and ballet. Their ballet classes also lean more towards modern ballet , at least for adults. They have great instructors and also host a lot of visiting dance companies and community events.

You really don't want a studiobthat ages up. Never a good sign.

Just posted this for another question, but thought it might be useful for people running searches in this sub and landing on this older thread:

Strongly, strongly recommend Encore Performers (Encore Theatre Arts Project) in Chantilly, VA. Studio Owner Raynor van der Merwe at has a wonderful philosophy, which includes tremendous studio diversity. Children stay in the same level for two years, with year one focusing on exposure to technique and repetition/growth, and the second year is technical mastery plus preview of the next level. Encore nurtures and develops performers who aspire to be professionals, and all one has to do is attend their holiday show (she has put one on every December since 1996) to see how she prioritizes working on stage. Her company favors all styles, but boy is their tap incredible! The senior company take 4 classes of ballet (5.5 hours, plus .5 hour of pointe just for purposes of having the skill for a Broadway audition), plus all the other styles, plus acting, voice, and hip hop — and their hip hop is great. My daughter is not in the Encore ETAP company, and, even so, three of her teachers have performed multiple shows either on Broadway (2) or on a national tour (1). Strongly recommend this studio!

+1 never trust a studio that ages up and I'll add skip a studio where the owner isn't a parent.
