My cutie pie is a few weeks old and has terrible acne. My doctor said it should disappear by 8 weeks but has anyone used any creams or anything that worked? |
No, it’s hormonal. Both of my kids had horrible baby acne and then it just went away and they had beautiful skin. I’m a newborn photographer and see lots of baby acne (it’s one of the reasons I like to photograph in the first 10 days when possible). It will go away; I know it’s hard to wait but it ends in a few weeks and is totally normal. |
My second had this. You just have to wait it out, unfortunately. I wouldn’t mess around with creams on newborn skin; it’s very sensitive and prone to rashes already. |
Trying putting breast milk on it |
There’s not really much you can or should do other than refrain from taking portraits. 😬
It’s hard to look at, but I promise it will clear up. Just be patient. |
Change the soap you use |
Tubby Todd All Over Ointment is a godsend. I highly recommend this for baby acne as well as scratches on the face. But, yes, it will also disappear in a handful of weeks. |
It just goes away on its own. Both my kids had it. My newborn now has crystal clear skin at 10 weeks. Just wait it out. |
That has nothing to do with it. |
Both of my DDs had it, and it peaked between 6 and 8 weeks for each of them. By 10-12 weeks, it was completely gone.
Gently wipe their face with a soft washcloth and warm water. Don't use soap on their face for right now. It will go away with time. |
Worked for me, thanks |
DP, but we were specifically told NOT to use soap on a newborn’s face. |
https://shop.drbronner.com/collections/baby-unscented I’ve always used this no problems, just a little drop on the washcloth |
Just wait it out like your doctor told you. |
