Appropriate attire for a sports banquet?

| My HS DD will be attending her school's sports banquet. Any idea what the generally accepted attire for such an event is? I have no idea/experience with these. TIA for any guidance/suggestions. |

Also depends on the sport, the age, and school.
Our summer league and club swim banquets are very informal in what everyone wears. Our middle school basketball we were told to "look nice" - most boys were in polo type shirts and pants. |
