The Boys on Amazon Prime

My older teen wants to watch it though, so I will likely stick with it.

She does have Graves disease, which accounts for some of the change in her face. What brothers me is her lip injections, which make her voice sound muffled and weird. It's like her lips are overstuffed and can't move properly to form the sounds of words. I think she had her buccal fat removed, too, which may also affect how her speech sounds.

I am sympathetic to her health problems, but seeing her around more promoting this last season of the show has reminded me that I find the way she poses for photos very annoying, specifically because of her lips. She does this pouty, open mouth pose for everything -- red carpet photos, magazine photo shoots, everything. It's very annoying. I don't know if she has lip injections or just a really elaborate lip makeup routine (there is definitely contouring happening to make them look as big and round as possible). Either way, it impacts how she speaks -- always the pout with a sort of frown, and it seems extremely self-conscious like she is actively trying to emphasize her lips at all times. It drives me nuts.

I stopped watching the Boys because I found it too violent and depressing but I don't remember her doing any of this on the show, she seemed to speak normally on the show and have normal lips. It's just in photos and interviews where I see this. I guess it could be related to her Graves disease but there's also something about whatever she's doing to them cosmetically.

That was the end of it for me. Which was a shame as I'd really enjoyed the previous episodes / seasons.

I think I'm there with you

I'm cool with a superhero show, I'm cool with lots of shows that involve sexuality

But The Boys got to be too much. It's like I'm trying to follow a superior plot and then get subjected to stunt sexual activity

If I wanted to see that I wouldn't be watching Apple TV

I tried Euphoria and while I respect the skills of Zendaya, and now sort of understand the Sidney Sweeney controversies, I got super uncomfortable watching the underbelly of teenage characters. I don't need to see that and don't find it entertaining.

Deep and Starlight team up to take down Homelander, with Butcher and the Gen V kids helping out.

The ending would have been great, for any regular super hero show, but The Boys was supposed to parody the comic book genre, not wrap it all up nicely with a happy ending.

Butcher going toe to toe with the most powerful supe ever? Everyone feared Homelander, but somehow he couldn't slice Butcher and Kimiko in half?

Starlight got her revenge, but she was supposed to be close to Homelander, the Deep fighting on land shouldn't have lasted two minutes with her.

Hughie would have been out cold from those blows. In any case, Butcher was right, he should have released the virus.

I really enjoyed the show up to this season. However, this season was pretty bad. The decreased production budget, the forced set-up up of the Soldier Boy prequel, the fact that they're doing a spin-off based on racist,l, misogynistic Soldier Boy, the cancelation of Gen-V, and the spotty way they wrapped us this season seems like another big F-U to consumers and I'm I now checked out on all things in The Boys Universe.

I watched that entire fight sequence wondering what was the point of Homelander getting the V1. 2 episodes ago, Butcher told The Boys to run because HL got the V1. Now they could fight him toe-to-toe.

Also, why was the security in the secret White House tunnel so lax. They knew they were coming but only had regular automatic weapons set up. No supe security? That was the only way The Boys stupid plan could work.

This is what happens when you have so much time between seasons. It was almost two years between seasons.
