this is what you want kid?

more double dipping H1Bs??

scams shut it down!

Today's example of double-dipping in the immigration field involves a low-ranking university in the Virginia suburbs of Washington. It is one of the four such educational entities with remarkable profit margins that we reported on recently. Virginia International University (VIU) is also part of the Gulen network of schools that is said to siphon off educational funds into the politics of Turkey, as noted earlier. This is the conservative (but non-violent) Islamic cult that revolves around a self-exiled Turkish cleric, Fethtullah Gulen, who lives in rural Pennsylvania.

VIU's bread and butter is the foreign student trade; it would quickly go out of business if it were not able to issue the paperwork that leads to F-1 visas (as it can at the moment ). So that's the first and most obvious dip. But that is not enough for VIU; like some other compromised colleges, it also makes extensive use of the H-1B program.

What about you? Do you support giving permanent status and under what conditions?

That is all already built in. Glad you're on board

I'd be happy to keep the DACA kids who have college degrees or have joined the military. According to thus report about 4% have college degrees: https://www.migrationpolicy.org/research/profile-current-daca-recipients-education-industry-and-occupation

Why, because you think they are worthless takers and aren't contributing if they don't have a degree or haven't served in the military?

Well nearly 65% of Americans don't have degrees and 99% of Americans never served in the military. Congratulations on insulting a majority of regular Americans when you tried insulting DACA kids.

Also - the Republicans' aim is to deport them before they even have a chance to serve in the military or get through college.

they are also not here illegally.

Only 4% of DACA adults have college degrees?? I recall something like 20%, but that's still way below Americans! So why are liberals going to all sorts of lengths to persuade us to believe these illegal immigrants are exemplary examples of success and achievement? Seems like they're dragging behind.

And the argument that 65% of Americans don't have college degrees? I say....so what? Let's even say the DACA adults were EQUAL to Americans in terms of educational attainment. Why is that OK? Even saying "I'm no worse than Americans" is NOT enough to sing their praises. But in truth, they are far worse than average.

I agree. College graduates can stay, or they can join the military. At a minimum, and at the other end, we shouldn't be fighting to protect illegal immigrants who dropped out of high school, which one out of five DACA adults have.

We are a country of rules, their parents broke the law and overstayed their visa now we are rewarding the kids with citizenship. Less than 1% have joined the military if they think this country is so great why dont they serve?

I voted for Obama twice now I am ashamed of what the Democrats have become. We dont even know who these DACA kids are .. less than 4% college education and we SHUT DOWN gov for them????

Sure seems to prove the complaint that liberals care more about illegal immigrants than law-abiding Americans, doesn't it?

Lets see, they came to America for the great opportunities and their kids only have college degrees to the tune of 4%, after attending U.S. public schools on our dime? Now they are demanding to be made legal. What a bunch of lazy, self-righteous ingrates. Send them back. They can wait in line for legal immigration.

We should factor in the full cost of a Deportation Force against the public resources being used by DACA kids. Is it worth the cost?

Elian Gonzalez thing woudn't have happened if his family obeyed the law. The process in this case was followed to a T, and the court honored his father's parental rights. If you don't like the deportation force, blame his family who ignored the rulings.

There are two alternative theories to the "skills shortage" hokum of why there is this much usage of the H-1B program by VIU.

One is that the Gulen cult is using the H-1B program to bring over its friends and followers to help build that organization; other reports have shown that Gulen schools coerce their Turkish staff members, but not the American ones, to contribute substantial chunks of money to other Gulen organizations. We have no proof of that with VIU.

The other likely theory is that VIU, and the charter schools that make up most of the Gulen movement in the States, are using the lax rules of the H-1B system to bring in relatives and friends from Turkey, as another form of chain migration. These two theories do not conflict with each other.

But then again, maybe in Virginia there is no one qualified to be a "student event planner", and such people have to be brought in from Istanbul or Ankara.

Your ignorance is showing. For H1B, there is no requirement to show that no qualified American can be located for the same job. The requirement is only that the job requires a college degree. Only labor certification, a part of the employer-sponsored permanent residence process, requires proof that no qualified American exists for the job.

I've heard that from my friend from Mexico, too.
Overall, all legal immigrants are against ANY amnesty deal for illegal aliens.

And understandably so. Legal immigrants followed the lengthy process, so do you blame them for being resentful toward cheaters who broke the law and are now demanding special privileges?

+10000. Honestly the solution to be -- you're on DACA and want to stay -- go sign up to serve for 5 yrs and then you're full citizens. If they won't do that, then whatever.

Well goody for you Latina. I know many, MANY people who support it. South Americans, Latinos, Whites . . .

All you morally superior types have no business casting stones. I bet you speed, have broken other laws. Must be nice to be so judgmental based on the luck of having been born here (for most of the people commenting).

These DACA folks came her through no fault of their own. This is their home. Yes, they should stay. Even if they are here illegally, we have a moral obligation to let them stay. You can't seriously think breaking up families or sending people who lived here their entire lives, paid taxes, work, etc. should be sent back to some place they don't know and haven't lived. If you do, simply put, you are an awful, fucking person.
