Not happening. It's a 50% pay cut and two months away from family every winter.

Hasn't he already run once?

I think this is pretty much nonsense. From what I've seen, most of the members care about creating an excellent educational environment for all the kids. Schultz and her ilk blow past the needs of many students.

If you look at the social media presence of all of the SB members, it's easy to determine their interests. For some, it is promoting stuff going on in their districts. For others, it is Wikileaks.

No - he ran for Congress in 2010 but lost the nomination to Fimian who then lost to Connolly.

I am a conservative teacher who teaches in her district and am thankful we live just out of her district. Did you see her beginning of year message? She is incredibly militant and many teachers in her district feel she actively works against us instead of with us. She encourages parents to go to the media and tries to force principals to fold in the face of any parent challenge rather than actually follow school board policy. I agree that this board is really liberal, but Shultz is crazy, not conservative. She isn't doing her constituents any favors by being the enemy of every other school board member and alienating principals in her district instead of working with them.

This. Her twitter feed is immature, offensive gibberish that does not fit the profile of any elected official, well, at least until last week.

Will be interesting to see her reaction if any FCPS students protest like the Blair students did yesterday.

And she's been Tweeting all sorts of insults at a recent Lake Braddock grad with whom she disagrees, telling him that his parents must be wasting their money on his college education.

Such a rude woman. One can only imagine how Stephen Bannon would have described her.

I think that borders on student harassment.

Jeannette Hough is a calmer force and seems nice on the outside, but she's the one who said that Elizabeth Schultz was her favorite board member (before JH was elected -- at a public library event). They are both endorsed by the fairfax repubs... so, judge one by the company she keeps.

Once she answered my question (who is your favorite board member) with "Elizabeth Schultz" -- that was the end of my consideration of Jeannette Hough.

"Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are."

She is not a lady, either.

Curious, did McElveen and Hynes ever walk back their letter to UVA after the Rolling Stones article--you know the article that they believed? Their attack letter was pretty vicious.
