Actually google maps said it is.try again |
If you're referring to the one in the courthouse area that's different. One there is right next to a police station so there's protective measures in place. Fairfax County already said they will not be putting police officers here for this. So instead of police officers we have elderly people and children. That doesn't sound safe and all |
No it's not. There is a Catholic elementary school half a mile away. I'm sure all of the stay all moms here Who are pretending that they're so open-minded and liberal to be throwing the same fit we are. And more to the point, who build a homeless shelter right next to a senior citizens home and the liquor store and total wine |
No there's not. We do not have an issue with panhandlers or homeless people wandering around our neighborhood |
The neighborhood with the 1.2 to $2 million homes is literally across the main road from us. It also goes to show your ignorance of the area as sometimes there's a wide disparity in the prices of homes in different neighborhoods. Most out From out-of-state are not aware of this fact. |
They are there. Just because they are not bothering you does not mean they are not there. Believe it or not, most homeless people don't want attention. |
Sorry but even if you measure from the very tip of the property, which is blocked by a large black fence, the distance to 4710 North Chambliss Street, Alexandria is 1.0 miles. The distance to an actual entrance is even farther. It's a straight shot down Lincolnia, so there is really nothing to dispute. |
Not that I have a problem with another shelter, but we have six and you have seven. Yet you have 16 times the land that Arlington does. |
| or Fairfax can be like Seattle and allow/encourage the homeless to pitch tents on the sidewalks and in the forest of county parks! |
Liberals are also the most closed minded group, too. Everyone's ideas are welcomed as long as they go along with the liberal agenda. |
Yeah, liberals are the closed minded ones...
|
There will be no large fence around the shelter, the proposed site to the school property is less than a mile. And half a mile to a day care and Catholic school where little kids are outside playing. This is undisputed fact |
OK give me the exact longitude and latitude of the points you are measuring, and the distance. I have measured it three times. The property I was referring to was the school, which actually has a big black fence at that tip. Fact. And since I am a Catholic, I have no problem saying that we have an obligation to the poor and I am unafraid of my children being within a half mile of them. In fact my children are less than a half mile from homeless people all the time. |
It's obvious you're ignorant if the area, there is no big black fence, kids climb over it all the time, it's about three-four feet high. Just a quick drive by shows that. |
