If you are a size 4, how much do you weigh?

You can’t pose the question this way because @ 5’4” and 115 lbs I am -Size 0 in one brand. Size 2 in another. Size 4 in another. I can be a small medium or large depending on the brand. People describe me as skinny. I cannot even shop at stores like JJill and Talbots because the smallest sizes there are swimming on me.

Size 4 and 134 and 5’4. My relatives tell me not to lose weight because I look better than at 123 lbs.

This just tells me that sizing is unreliable and all over the place depending on how much the retailer wants to feed into the customers' vanity. I'm 5'9, 125lbs and am a solid size 4, and 27 in jeans. I say all this just to highlight how the size on the label means nothing.

What are your measurements?

Body shape makes a big difference

Sizes are all about body shape and have little to do with weight.

Body composition and where you carry your weight is a big part of it too

5'9 PP here - Yes I agree. My weight is pretty evenly spread. Wish I carried more in my butt...which will never happen

5’2, 122 lbs, 30g boobs. No ass, skinny arms and legs, weight in tummy. A four is where I start when trying on clothes. Sometimes have to go up or down. But Im Getting to the point of realizing that the cut matters. Like j crew pants are just never going to fit me. They’re made for someone with a smaller waist and bigger ass and legs. So I’ve stopped even trying them on. I heard a fashion expert say that if you order a bunch of stuff online three times and nothing fits from a brand, that brand is not for you. Move on.

size 4 is a lot bigger than in the past, size 0 is the new size 4

I’m size 4 in dresses that for waist up free at hips x. Hips are more like size 6/8 so I wear that in pants but small shorts and top fits in 4.

Original 5’4 pp. I carry my weight pretty evenly all over. So that helps. In some brands of jeans I am size
6, but that is rare. It’s more often that I am size 2 in tops.

For formalwear (ie gowns) I am a solid size 6.

Agree with this. I’m 5’8 and 132, and I can sometimes fit in a size 0/2 but often am a size 4, or size 26/27 in jeans. 20 years ago, I was similar height/weight but a size 6/8 and 29/30 jeans.

You must be wiry muscular at 140, I’m 120 same height with same size jeans (bubbly butt)
