I have noticed that there are a lot of people like this who are nutjobs devoid of humanity.

They keep you and your family alive,

Murderers and psychopaths don't keep me alive. They endanger me greatly.

You should get your narcissistic disorder and psychopathy treated.

Whatever you do - DO NOT JOIN THE ARMED FORCES. Our brave military does not need someone like you.

You say this like the army is a desirable career path. It isn't. Upper middle class and upperclass parents do not consider the army as a viable career option for their children. Army recruitment is basically for poor Southerners with no path to college.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that no son of mine will be allowed to joined the armed anything. They are simply too good for that, and I've invested too much into their education.

23:55 Who do you think is going to defend you and your college educated children against ISIS? What an ignorant post.

And on another note, who do you think arrived at the Vineyard Golf Club at 1:05pm following his statement on James Foley?

Sad.

This whole thread is PATHETIC.

Wrong. There are some upper middle class parents who actually allow their college-educated children to choose their own path (gasp!) and join the military. I am one of them.
Too bad your children will not be “allowed” to decide what to do with their lives. I am sure you have your child slated for the “honorable" path of lawyer or lobbyist.
After all, serving our country in the military is not good enough for you.

The military is diverse in so many ways. And I think the one of the pluses of working for the military, nasa, NIH is that it gives smart kids from any background access to and responsibility for resources that only the US government has. Papa bear, u can steer your sons away from military service. They will never know the thrill of flying a state of the art fighter jet. As they head to their office jobs in sure they will thank you for deciding their futures for them based on a cost benefit analysis, and give you the father of the year award. PP- thank you for your childs service. I hope your child finds personal meaning and reward in their service and that it opens many doors - whether a long term career or other adventures - for him or her.

I am the pp - thank you. My son has found great reward in military service - both personally and professionally. Thank you for your thoughtful post.

What kind of a question is that even?
Most of the members are not Iraqis.

I guess no one has a right to be pissed but you.

Pissed. No one said that murder and other horrid things are justified. Nice try mr. Strawman.

Take responsibility for the shit the US does around the world. I know, you don't give a shit.

You need to calm down. You make no sense with your tirade. Yes, the US has done many wrongs around the world throughout history.
However, IS would be on their rampage now without the US ever having set foot there as well, they might have gone from Syria to Jordan., who knows.
They are an army. They want a caliphate. They want land. They are composed mostly of foreigners, not Iraqis.

And no, they have NO RIGHT. You (OP) asked.

There are lots of thrills in life that don't involve a uniform. The military doesn't have a monopoly on thrills. You say this like it's special.
Anonymous
Of course there are. And the military is special. Servicemenbers have the thrill of responsibility for equipment, decisions, fellow members. But have fun having the thrill of wind surfing or however you and your family get your kicks. While you are out riding the waves you can continue advising your children against a life of service and honor.

We need the military, so I don't see the point in these comments.

What we do need is restraint in how and where we use our military.

The military is indeed a special place.

It idles have honor and service for one's country.

It is also a place where where draft dodgers get to tell real patriots to lay down their lives for their stupid foreign and domestic policies.

Actually , I don't think its very related. Most Iraqis and Syrians so not seem to share a common goal with Isis at all. Unfortunately they are cowed right now. I would be too under threat of rape, slavery, beheading.

I'm sure going to Iraq, invading their country, occupying their country for 8 years, installing a government that we chose, causing hundreds of thousands of deaths, mostly civilians. That had nothing to do with the emergence of ISIS. Dumbass.

And the whole thing was done under a premise that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

The bulb does not shine very brightly. I suppose that if Iraq invaded our country, occupied it for 8 years, installed a government they chose to rule over us, caused hundreds of US civilian deaths, you would be pretty ambivalent about all that.

This is the type of cognitive detachment that only psychopaths have.

Wow I have never been arm chair diagnosed with that one based off an internet post. I'm glad FBI profiling has people like you on the job. I will sleep safe at night
