I don't think anyone cared about the lack of an engagement. It was his demeanor and attitude throughout the season, and particularly tonight. ABC is really kicking themselves over this choice, I'm sure.

They totally regret this choice.

One thing that was different this time is that Chris didn't have that final sit down with him to go over his final two choices (or at least I don't remember this ...) Ha, no wonder, since I agree, Chris probably couldn't stand him, and the producers knew/sensed things weren't going the way they would have hoped/wanted. Plus, funny thing, last night, Chris mentioned when the two were sitting there that Juan Pablo noted he would have a surprise ... for the tiniest second, I too thought maybe he would propose (!) What a joke.

According to reality Stev, there was a money offer on the table to propose on the After the Final Rose. I find it hard to believe that was the possible surprise.

Also really wonder what happened two weeks ago (he banged one of the rejects in the bathroom?).

I suppose we'll find out more once they break up and Nikki gets a publicity tour of her own.

Now I kinda want to see more of Clare. Too bad Andi is the next bachelorette. But I suppose there's always bachelor pad!

And how awkward that CH thought there was a surprise and there wasn't - best moment was when JP and Nikki were trying to be like, "we're so happy, this is what the show is about!" and CH was like "I don't even know what I'm looking at!"

Since they said it had to do with production, I am thinking production pulled the plug on the big blitz of a media tour that the couple usually goes on after the show ends.

Certainly one of the worst Bacholar series ever. JP comes off as a jerk. His deamenor, his attitude, his I'm not sharing this, etc. He's just tiring and boring. I hope for Nikki's sake that she truly sees the light with this guy and is not going to let herself slide under his wing and be doomed forever. It's obvious that he's controlling, when CH was asking Nikki when she was by herself on the couch, about their relationship, she didn't seem comfortable and just didn't know!!! How can you not know??? I felt as though she could have been more truthful, but was afraid to hurt JP feelings.

Whatever happened 2 weeks ago appears to be a spat with ABC. It could have been over a media tour. As I remember it, Sean was all over the place right after the show ended; of course they had the happy news of an engagement and he was the consummate nice guy that everyone wanted to talk to. Juan Pablo is far more of a loose cannon -- he says random things that are demeaning to gays, women etc. -- I'm not sure you want to put that kind of guy on a publicity tour.

After Claire told him off -- he actually said something like "glad I didn't pick her." And I'm not sure I caught it but when he gave Nikki the rose without proposing, he said something like "don't get upset/cranky right now -- you can do that tomorrow." He's a moron who doesn't come off being all that nice to/concerned about women. Not sure you want someone like that talking to media outlets if you're ABC. But because ABC isn't promoting him, I think he decided to take the approach of "I won't cooperate with you at all -- everything is private."
