Why do you use "papa" instead of "daddy" or "dad"?

This is us! My kids call my spouse "da-da", or "dah-dey" ; )
I'm just mama although now that my eldest is almost 11 she calls me by my first name. I'm OK with it. Dada is still Dada

I called my parents Ma and Pa, not sure what spouse called his parents, they are both gone
