Interesting. Off the top of my head, we know a handful kids who at Florida, UGA, Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, SMU, Miami, LSU and Rice who seem to love it. My theory is a large part of their happiness is simply due to the sunny weather during the school year.

No, who are you kidding. Undergrad engineering, BBA in business, political science and pre-med is the same everywhere. These kids are studying hard, having fun, meeting spouses, and building networks to mount successful careers in the booming South and Mountain West.

That’s not true. Those degrees are not the same everywhere. I could glide through Univ of Alabama with these undergrad majors. I could not do the same at Harvard.

Most Northern girls couldn’t stomach the whole sorority thing where the females have to post videos of themselves forced to go on social media, chit chat while applying makeup and then point out their clothing, the label on the clothes, show off their jewelry and name the brand. Real deep.

Incidentally, I went to a fancy prep school and today's college matriculation lists is dominated by large state schools and southern schools whereas 30 years ago it was almost all northern LACs and Ivies. Pretty telling.

Going to schools like the University of Alabama from one of the top Northeast boarding schools would be considered a failure. They are not dominated by Southern schools except a few private ones and maybe Univ Texas at Austin. The majority still have their sites on the top 20 schools.

Unless you can name this prep school I’d have to consider it a lie. Most of these schools have the list of colleges on their website where their graduates will be attending.

I saw an ad for it and it looked like a SNL skit about a show that old white peolle would watch. Even the name is sort of hilarious. Landman — because without land, can you even really be a man??? You should educate yourself on the oil industry in Texas. It’s really interesting.

As for Landman it is a title for a job in the oil industry- – Specialist who negotiates with landowners to securing drilling rights, ensures leases are in place and conducts research on land titles and mineral ownership.

I don’t think the show attracts just white people. A lot of Mexicans and Latinos and blacks work in the industry so they probably enjoy the show. Besides the annoying wife and daughter I like the show. I’ve love Billy Bob Thornton since I saw the movie Slingblade and found out that he wrote the movie and starred in it. He was so chubby back then and the movie was amazing. He’s slimmed down since and has had great success.
