I guess most posters are transplants or strivers who didn’t attend local privates themselves because the assumptions being thrown around are so wild.

Sigh. Here’s the thing: Those of us who grew up here and went to local catholic schools in the 70s/80s/90s really weren’t affluent. Sure, we poked fun at the rich kid schools…but we never turned down the beer they served at their parties :0) Kidding! The reality is some teens will party too hard, some will abstain, and the majority are somewhere in the middle. There is no such thing as a high school where nobody drinks. But that doesn’t mean your kid needs to be uncomfortable. She will find good kids wherever she lands. |
Like every school, it varies by grade. Last year's NCS class had a half dozen regular partiers. That was it. 50% of the class had never set foot in a party, even pre and post prom. Other grades have a different split in this regard but there is always a large majority that does not party regularly. |
