Is this a joke? Because DC has no authority or oversight in this matter. |
Then they would be wrong. There is no question that they have no authority. If they thought they did and they ever tried to use it, DC would be stripped of home rule. |

Ever heard of FOIA? You can read all about it. |
Read the room. Trump doesn't even care about DC anymore. He's moved on. Bowser can come out from under the bed now. |
There's no burden of proof on me to prove your fantasies. If they had these discussions, the moment the lawyers were consulted, the visions of permits quickly evaporated. |
That's not at all what happened. There was a massive debate within the Bowser administration over this. It went all the way up to the mayor, and many are very angry that she is giving Trump a pass. |
Why didn't Bowser warn the public that Trump was sending clouds of asbestos into the air of downtown DC? |
I haven't seen any evidence of this. Not a single news story. Just a post from an angry rando. |
FOIA the emails. |
Then the “many” need to spell out exactly what Bowser should have done — within the very real limits of her authority— while also attempting to spare DC from Trump’s well-known wrath. I suspect that many of these anti-Bowser comments are being made by people who feel certain that they themselves won’t be impacted by things like ICE and the National Guard occupation, and who don’t care very much about those of us who daily risk paying the price for their sheltered hubris. |
Why should I? They don't exist as far as I am concerned. No one in the DC government should be dumb enough to believe they have regulatory authority over a federal enclave. |
What? Bowser has practically rolled out the red carpet for ICE. |
Good thing no one listens to you. |
Ok, Vidkun Quisling. |
