Fools. You think it is safe to fly under Trump's administration? That is genius. |
| I'm glad we have already arrived at our holiday destination as of 2 weeks ago. |
| I just booked a pay later rental car (Chicagoland to DC) for the weekend after Thanksgiving. That relieves my logistical concerns … at least until the weather forecast comes in. |
Most airlines have said international flights won't be affected. |
|
It is not really due to the shutdown.
It is due to Trump trying to make Americans experience pain, so they pressure Democrats. (See layoffs and cutting off SNAP payments—which has not happened in any other shutdown) |
| "Ruination"? |
+1 Not only that Project 2025 is very clear maximum pain, privatize everything, lose all benefits..... |
,Not sure it pressures the Democrats more than the Republicans. |
| I get this sucks and we are changing our t’giving plans bc traveling with very elderly person who doesn’t pivot well BUT it’s only 10%. Obviously there will be delays and some cancellations but 90% will continue. |
wow, 2 kids at college, and you can afford to buy them airline tickets home? simply wow! you are very different than the families I know and live with. |
it will not be the same folks dealing with ACA premium increases. 2 completely different populations. oh the indignity of not being to fly somewhere. |
DP- but I’m not sure why someone having different priorities than you is “wow.” One of my children chose a west coast university as it was half the price of our in state option plus nice weather. Adding in flights still doesn’t touch the in-state cost and she loves the vibes out there. But her possibly not making it home for Thanksgiving is making me very sad. |
| I am hoping that the cancellations will be the same over time ..like United is cancelling the 7 10 flight from Chicago to Dallas every day so flyers will kind of know what to expect . If everyday is a new game it will be difficult to know about return flights |
You spelled Republican wrong. |
