you get RIFed you're not getting paid either, if you make over $250k

250k all in? 250k base?

if the rate of pay used in retirement calculations (basic pay= base pay + locality) is in excess of the official rate of pay for EX level I, you are not eligible for severance.

FML. As I'm like $1k over.

I was looking forward to the buffet. I don't really care what the union says or does.

Are you even a member?

Why should the union communicate with non due paying employees?

Don’t look at what you get if you’re 57 with 15 years of service. At least, not until you have a box of Kleenexes handy.

yeah, the folks that meet MRA +10 are better off postponing the pension for as long as possible and starting it and FEHB right before they turn 62. but that's a long 5 years without severance or pension or subsidized health.

Has anyone heard an update on the telework arbitration?

the shutdown caused a delay. several more weeks for a decision, not that it really will make a difference.

I am happy to be back yet somehow very depressed. I have three young kids and am sad that I am seeing them less. Wish I could work part time but there is so much job instability that I feel it makes more sense to work full time so that we can save more. I wish partial telework could come back so that I am able to drop them off to school in the morning. I dunno… I am just so sad.

It is hard but you can do it. The SEC is still a good place to work.
