Sorry if you couldn't comprehend - I was saying. It's not malicious, just incompetence, and I think I would prefer malicious. |
Lady you have anger issues |
central office comms needs to learn the difference between a general message and an alert so parents can opt in accordingly. "Kicking of a Great Year" is a general message in my opinion (and a pretty useless one at that). |
Or excessive information. Our weekly emails are pages long. |
| The real question is, despite all those communications you got…did you still have to reach out in community groups to get answers to questions that were in those thousands of communications? |
Typically yes. -NP |
Yes. Because MCPS engages in PR masquerading as communication and they have an authenticity gap, so you have to the get the real low-down from community members, not the school or the system. |
|
Too. Many. Emails.
Don't need to send the same info out so many times. Makes me more likely to miss something bc I'm more likely to not read the emails when there are dozens that repeat instead of maybe 1-2 that I can save for reference. |

Ideally I would like three different categories that I could opt into:
1) time sensitive alerts like school closures, safety issues. This is the only information I want via text. 2) information specific to my school and/or child. I would like this by email. 3) generalized information about McPS priorities or initiatives or achievements. I would opt out of this entirely. I feel like having these 3 different categories is not that much to ask, really. |
The thing is, this is all completely possible with the ParentSquare app. You can opt in or out of "Alerts", and "General Information" for your child's school and separately for MCPS as a whole. The problem is that MCPS central office is sending everything out as "Alerts". |
Babe, I'm the one telling you to get a burner email & a google voice line and adjust your settings. "Wow. Just wow." your stupid self, hapless prat. |
Nah, bro. I'm zen af because I turned my notifications off last week.
I enjoy the annual spectacle so many of you make of yourselves though. Thanks for the lolz. |
