These numbers are very discouraging. Only 10% of students who don't identify?

We all teach our children to never check the gender or race box, so really only 10%?

Having a hard time believing that.

They used to have modest scores, they turned into Vanderbilt part 2 quickly.

All because of test optional. if test required, it will go down significantly

It wont friend. It was a 1470 enrolled before test optional. Its a 1510 last year, likely a 1530 this year. They've put in a big effort to raise scores. It wont drop 60 points, like Dartmouth was able to maintain a 1520.

NP. Emory's middle 50 percentile range before test optional was 1400-1510.

The most elite schools will only see their 25th percentile go down 10 or 20 pts. Score ranges for schools like Emory would come back down to earth if they went back to test required, and that is ok. Still a great school. It would be helpful to see true test score ranges rather than the partial ranges currently being reported. Alas, I doubt Emory will go back to requiring tests anytime soon.

Friend they post the stats on their website. Stop acting like you know what you're talking about.
In 2020, the last test required year the median was 710 Reading, 760 Math. Yes the 25th percentile was a 1400 but thats for hooked students not your upper middle class white children. Under normal non covid circumstances the test score range would have still consistently rose, just not as quickly as it did. At 1470 in 2020 its very likely to have been 1500 by 2025-2026 TR. But with TO its closer to 1530 this year.

Everyone understands this but for the OP of this thread who started this thread only to try to boast of Emory's numbers we all know are not true medians. Even the school put an asterisk next to them.

They all put asterisks next to TO numbers. Emory has less TO students than other schools so yes it is in fact a good sample, especially for non URM students.

Don’t people here get tired of talking about the same thing over and over? It test required is the future, take the tests and shut up

Not all of our kids can score 1500 plus, doesn't mean they cant do well at these schools. Looking for loopholes isnt bad.

Emory had 38% admitted students that were test optional on the previously reported cycle on CDS. Can't imagine there are that many with more. But, could you share link of others with more? It would be interesting.

Vanderbilt and WashU are around 50% TO, NYU is about 80% TO, USC around 65%, Nortre Dame ,UVa, and Umich 40-45% TO. All on their CDS, I shouldn't have to do the work for you.

Why do schools that are TO even bother posting median test scores of admitted classes? It's meaningless and not truly representative of the class. Most intelligent people understand this.
Anonymous
NYU and Northeastern are the worst TO culprits. Its just lying at that point.

It is worth noting that NYU is not TO, it requires that submission of 3 AP scores, one science/math, one humanities/social science and one of any kind, to substitute for an SAT or ACT score. In this respect, it is more stringent than UC, which will consider AP scores in the admissions process.

I dont see why when people talk about TR now they dont get that test scores tend to rise naturally at top schools. They just rose faster with test optional.

How do we know that when at some of these schools almost 40% and higher of admitted students didn't submit scores.

I mean they didn't submit them because they were at or above the school's previously published medians? C'mon.

I believe its required reporting by Dept of Education.

An enormous amount of time is being spent discussing emory, an afterthought for most top kids. Move on.
