A parent’s job is to TEACH vs handling every.single. thing for them. What’s next? “Mom, I am out of condoms, can you order some more?”

Are you in denial that most college students are having sex?

NP. Not sure how you could have possibly gotten that from what they said. Their point was that if there's any friction for college kids being able to buy condoms — lack of knowledge, discomfort asking a store employee about where the condoms are, lack of confidence about what kind to buy — that part of the parent's job is to remove that friction before the student goes off to college.

Sure, but most college kids won’t don’t this, they’ll just have unsafe sex. It’s the parents job to make sure they are stocked up on condoms and order more when they need them.

What flavors? Strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, banana or mint?

Thread goes 8 pages and no parent (presumably) posters mentioned free condoms available at almost all (non-religious) college health centers and by request through dorm Residential Advisors. Made me think that none of the parents posting here had any sex during their time in college.

Although our family is fairly liberal, my daughter has emerged as a deeply devout Catholic who is pro-life and does not believe in pre-marital sex (or even birth control for that matter). The birth control concerns me because she could always shift away from her beliefs and I want her to be prepared. I have tried to have this conversation with her, but she won't have it. She has a boyfriend who has the same beliefs and supposedly they are not having sex. I believe it, but I don't see how this can be maintained for the next four years or if she will find someone in college with the same beliefs. She will be separated from her current boyfriend by distance when she goes away to college.

Unless she gets married in college she will almost certainly change her mind.

She might be able to resist temptation with her geeky high school boyfriend, but what's going to happen in college when touse gigachad develops eyes for her?
