Don’t candidates want both endorsements? That’s typically the path to victory. |
Are you suggesting that AEA should be partisan and not meet with all constituents, teachers, parents? |
Exactly. Hence the need for clarification. |
DP- Someone on this thread is intentionally posting false information. |
How is a LOBBYING GROUP a constituent of a teacher's union? How are parents the constituents of a TEACHER'S union? Also, AEA didn't just meet with them; they teamed up and I think even wrote a joint position statement. APE is really shady because it won't disclose it's funding. Because of that and because of its leadership's ties to right wing/conservative Republicans, this leads many to assume APE is funded by right wingers/MAGA. AEA should have stayed for away from APE if they didn't want to be partisan. I lost all respect for AEA when they teamed up with APE. Also its endorsements in the past haven't helped its cause either. |
What was the joint statement about? |
The letter to the Dr Duran and the Board advocating for a total cellphone ban across APS. I think it was posted to the old AEM if you'd like to fish for it. AEA could have issued their own statement instead of collaborating with APE. Made me lose a lot of respect for them. APE is divisive. |
You disagree with a cellphone ban? |
+1 |
Conflating issues is so DCUM. I'm actually okay and agree with cellphones being out of the classroom. I just don't believe that AEA and APE had to write a joint letter saying so. |
This letter links June directly with APE's board. It's not a large step to take to think that she'll be very friendly to them and their views as a SB member. |
Mary Kadera just endorsed June. That’s wild. I don’t think it will change much of anything since everyone else endorsed Moe, but for the first time, I have to question WTF Mary is thinking. |
Yes. I thought it was interesting that Mary wished both Moe and June could be on the school board. “I have deep respect for the other candidate in this race and I believe she is a tremendous asset to this community. I believe she brings strengths, experience, and perspectives that would also add value to the School Board. I wish a little bit that there were two seats open, because I think these two candidates would complement each other very well.” |
